It’s National Volunteer Week April 6 – 12, 2014 – a time to recognize, celebrate and thank Canada’s 13.3 million volunteers! And because BOMA Calgary’s committees are completely comprised of volunteers, we would like to recognize each committee and thank them for all that they do.
Communication Committee – Advises on all communication tools
Education Committee – Advocate for education for industry members
- Mentoring Sub-Committee of Education – Professional Development Program
Events Committee – The do’ers at all BOMA events
Golf Committee – Plan and execute the sold-out, top golf tournament for commercial real estate
Government Affairs Committee – Grassroots advocacy for BOMA, the voice on matters involving municipal and provincial policy
Next Gen Committee – Under 35 set, investigating and creating opportunities for young professionals
Public Safety Committee – Communicates on behalf of members with Calgary Fire, Police and CEMA; investigates matters of safety in buildings
- Archimedes Sub-Committee of Public Safety – Working group developing a template for what to do for buildings to prepare for flooding
Supporting Member Council – Creating and evaluating value for and by associate members
Environmental & Health and Safety Committee – Oversee the BOMA BESt certificate program (Energy, Water, Waste), environmental matters and all things involving occupational health
Industry Standards (Awards) Committee – Setting and recognizing members who are holding high industry standards; planning and programing for the Excellence Awards
