On Thursday October 13th, BOMA Calgary had the pleasure of welcoming Warren Paulsen, Vice-President of Commercial for Brookfield Residential and Elton Ma, Director of Commercial for Brookfield Residential, who shared their ultimate vision for the up and coming suburban community of Seton. seton
Now when you think about the SE boundary of Calgary, you think of Seton. Seton is Calgary’s newest and largest South Urban district with a downtown-like core. With aspirations to become a home to approximately 120,000 people, Seton will effectively become roughly the size of Red Deer, AB within the next ten years and will hopefully be fully connected to the rest of Calgary via the LRT Green Line by 2025. By accommodating everything that makes up a downtown, Seton truly will become a core outside of the core including amenities such as: Calgary’s South Health Campus, 1.5 million sq. ft. of suburban office space, 1 million sq. ft. of retail space, over one thousand condo residences, a short-term and extended stay Marriott hotel, a CBE High School, Calgary’s first Cineplex VIP Theatre, Western Canada’s largest recreation centre and a 16-acre regional park. At Seton, the options are endless.
As explained by both Warren Paulsen & Elton Ma, Seton will be carefully designed to meet various environmentally sustainable practices and will be created with a unique and authentic environment consisting of an eclectic mix of architecture and a wide range of people. Their vision includes interconnected pathways allowing for easy access throughout all areas of the community and absolutely no drive-thru’s… not even a Tim Hortons drive-thu!
Thanks to Brookfield Residential, Seton will be able to accommodate all of the people who choose to live, work and play in Calgary’s downtown for SE Calgary. To see Brookfield Residential’s complete vision, click here.
