“On behalf of Calgary’s commercial real estate industry BOMA Calgary would like to commend the provincial government for their strong action in reforming the Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA) to be responsive to the public, and more relevant to the industries that it regulates.
“Our industry relies on an equitable, consistent, and transparent regulatory environment to serve the thousands of businesses of all sizes that make up the tenant base, and we believe that Bill 20 will do just that.
“In particular, we are confident that the new Industry Councils will allow RECA to focus more closely on the unique characteristics of each industry, while ensuring that licensing and education is relevant to licensees and helps promote the highest standard of professionalism.
“We at BOMA Calgary look forward to working with the province and RECA on implementing these changes and delivering the most efficient and accountable regulatory process for Albertans.”
