On behalf of the BOMA Calgary and the Golf Committee, we’re excited to announce that the BOMA Golf Classic at Kananaskis Country Golf Course is confirmed for September 9th, marking our first in-person event in 18 months! While we’re excited to safely bring together the industry for a fun day of networking and connecting with industry peers, the 2021 BOMA Golf Classic will look a bit different than in the past.
Format
To avoid crowding at the tournament centre, this year’s tournament will feature a double shotgun start with staggered times. That means that Golfers will be divided into two groups, with the first shotgun start at 10:00am, and the second group’s shotgun start at 2:00pm. Seated meals will be provided separately for each group. Should public health orders preclude a shotgun start, backup arrangements are in place for a tee-time format.
Teams
To provide an added level of comfort, for this year’s event Golfers have the ability to choose their foursome if they would like. Those who do not take advantage of this option will be placed on a team with other golfers. Given this structure and that we will not be creating balanced teams based on handicap, there will be no team prizes.
Registration Dates
2021 BOMA Golf Classic tickets go on sale at 9:00am on Wednesday, July 7th at boma.ca. All available tickets are generally sold in the first 5 minutes, so make sure you have this date in your calendar and are prepared! This means ensuring that your account is active and that you have the proper credentials to login. Pre-registration tickets are available to some sponsors, so please see the Sponsorship section below for more information.
The registration cost will be $325 per Golfer, and includes green fees, cart, starter kit, prizes, and food.
Cancellation
While we are confident in our plans and hopeful that Alberta’s reopening is a success, we have learned to expect anything and as such have created a cancellation policy to reflect that. Should public health orders cause the cancellation of the tournament at any time, Golfers will receive a full refund. However, to accommodate organizers with the scope of work required for this year’s event, we will only be providing refunds for registration cancellations made prior to August 9th, noon.
COVID-19 Safety
While we are all eager to connect in person with our industry colleagues, our first priority remains the health and safety of our community and as such we will take all reasonable measures to mitigate the risk, and of course closely follow and abide by local and provincial health orders. We are also seeking no-touch alternatives for components like registration and raffle prizes to further protect the community. Further communication will be provided as we progress closer to the tournament date and as safety requirements evolve.
